Joe Biden reacts to Donald Trump’s COVID-19 status as Buhari sends message

The US presidential candidate of the Democratic Party, Joe Biden, has reacted to the news of President Donald Trump and his wife contracting COVID-19.

Trump announced on Friday that he and his wife, Melania have tested positive for COVID-19.

He announced that they will be quarantined for the recovery process to begin.

And Biden, who is Trump’s main challenger in the November presidential election, tweeted, “Jill and I send our thoughts to President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump for a swift recovery.

Biden said his family will continue to pray for the President.

Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari has joined other Presidents and world leaders to wish Donald Trump of the United States a quick recovery from COVID-19.

A statement signed by his Senior Special Assistant, Garba Shehu, said the president joins all citizens of US in prayers for a quick and full recovery of Trump and his wife, Melanie.

The statement said that Buhari “notes with sympathy, that the incident of COVID-19 in the White House manifests the challenge posed by the pandemic across the world, and difficulty in containing the spread.”

While wishing the American First Family speedy turnaround in their current health status, President Buhari urged for compliance to protocols among Nigerians and adherence to medical doctors’ advice, particularly epidemiologists.
