Jenny McCarthy recently admitted that she took a sacred item from Pope Francis during a trip to Italy.
According to Fox News, the 51-year-old TV star, known for her devout Catholic upbringing, shared this on the “Let’s Talk Off Camera with Kelly Ripa” podcast on Wednesday.
“I took a cross from the Vatican and gave it to my mom,” McCarthy, who also judges on “The Masked Singer,” told Kelly Ripa.
She added, “My mom was like, ‘This is not okay.'”
However, McCarthy clarified that she didn’t take the cross herself. Instead, one of her friends took it while they were visiting the Pope’s apartment in Vatican City.
Despite the questionable origin, McCarthy’s mother, Linda, kept the cross and now has it displayed prominently in her home. “She still has it on the wall, though, so I feel like it was — it’s in good hands,” McCarthy said.
