Hollywood star Jamie Foxx and American rapper Sean ‘Diddy’Combs are both facing sexual assault charges.
Jamie Foxx has denied an account of an incident at a New York rooftop bar eight years ago.
The lawsuit claimed that in the summer of 2015, Foxx made comments such as, “Wow, you have that supermodel body,” at Catch NYC & Roof, a restaurant and rooftop bar.
Subsequently, he allegedly grabbed the woman by the arm and pulled her to the “secluded” back of the rooftop.
On Thursday, a spokesperson for Foxx told Deadline; ‘The claims were no more viable at that time than they are today’ and they were confident the lawsuit would be dismissed again.
He emphasized that when this happened, ‘Mr. Foxx intended to pursue a claim for malicious prosecution against this person and her attorneys for re-filing this frivolous action.’
Meanwhile, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is being accused by Joi Dickerson-Neal, who was a Syracuse University student in 1991.
The lawsuit claims that during a dinner in Harlem, Combs pressured her into keeping him company then he intentionally drugged her, rendering her unable to stand or walk independently. The suit further claims that, under pressure, she smoked a “blunt” in the car, and her memory becomes incomplete from that point on.
Combs drove her to a music studio and then to a place where he was staying, where he allegedly sexually assaulted her. The suit contends that due to the drugging, she lacked the physical ability or mental capacity to defend herself. It alleges that Combs recorded the assault, and a male friend later revealed to Dickerson that he had viewed the recording, causing her significant distress.
As a result of the incident, Dickerson’s life allegedly spiraled into severe depression and suicidal thoughts, leading to hospitalization. Despite filing police reports and speaking to prosecutors, she was told her allegations needed corroboration. The lawsuit suggests that witnesses were afraid of retaliation from Combs and potential harm to their future business and music opportunities if they supported her.
According to her, the lawsuit filed by Cassie Ventura, on November 16, 2023, regarding alleged abuse by Combs compelled her to revisit her own assault.
