It’s just me and God, no religion – Omah Lay

Stanley Didia, better known by his stage name Omah Lay, is a Nigerian Afrobeats singer who has expressed his controversial views on religion, which he finds offensive.

Omah lay is one emotional artist and his style of music is a unique one as his fans will call it AFRO DEPRESSION and this is because of the heartbreak songs that he mostly releases.

“As soon as I made money I just switched, I just believed in God and respected God, then I became more human than just religion. I just don’t enjoy religion anymore and I grew up in a Christian home and spent a lot of time in church. At a point I even wanted to convert to Islam, but I’m now at this point where it’s just me and God, no religion.”

Omah Lay went a step farther and stated that a “lack of evidence” was the reason behind his problem with religion. For him, there is no evidence that the sacred texts of the world’s religions were penned by God or his representatives. He does not believe in religion, even though he believes in God’s existence.

“I really don’t know anything and that’s the problem, it’s just these books and everyone is saying this and that but in no way does it sound true. These are just books that I cannot find evidence that this was written by God or his servant himself, so I feel like I don’t know anything. In as much as I know the Bible, I know Jesus, and I know Allah, but at the end of the day, I don’t have evidence. The only evidence that I have is that he is moving me, I know there is something somewhere that is in charge of this whole thing,”

The SOSO crooner stated that his reverence for the almighty god transcends religious boundaries. He was introduced to the idea of religion while growing up in a somewhat religious environment, but he has come to the conclusion that religion is not for him.

In an interview with Wunmi Bello on her podcast, he disclosed that he had contemplated switching from Christianity to Islam at one point. But at this point in his life, he feels that he may have a relationship with God without adhering to any one religion.

He also talked about his style of music and how his fans can relate to his music and also how he was served BREAKFAST at some point in his life and how that affected him.

Listen to the interview to have a better insight about the life of the interesting artist. Because he did share deep stuff about him in a cool way because Omah Lay is a cool Kid!
