It Was an Honour to Serve -Sacked Minister Tells Tinubu

Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, the former Minister of Women Affairs, has released a heartfelt statement following her unexpected dismissal by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu yesterday.

In a letter of appreciation, Kennedy-Ohanenye expressed her sincere gratitude to the President for the opportunity to serve Nigeria, describing it as “an honor and a privilege”.

She also extended her heartfelt thanks to Senator Oluremi Tinubu, the First Lady of Nigeria, for her invaluable guidance and support during her tenure. Kennedy-Ohanenye credited the First Lady’s kindness and encouragement as instrumental to her success.

The former Minister also thanked the people of Nigeria for their unwavering support, citing their trust and confidence as a constant source of inspiration. Despite her dismissal, Kennedy-Ohanenye reaffirmed her commitment to serving Nigeria and contributing to its progress and prosperity.

This development comes after President Tinubu’s surprise announcement, which also affected four other Ministers: Lola Ade-John (Tourism), Prof. Tahir Mamman (Education), Abdullahi Muhammad Gwarzo (State for Housing and Urban Development), and Dr. Jamila Bio Ibrahim (Youth Development). The sack follows an earlier scrapping of some Ministries.
