ISWAP Terrorists Execute Eight Alleged Government Informants in Borno

—

Members of the Islamic State in West Africa Province (ISWAP) have reportedly executed eight people accused of spying for the Nigerian government in Borno State.
The development was disclosed on Tuesday by security analyst Brant Philip in a post on (formerly Twitter).
According to him, those killed included members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) and one police officer.
Philip said the suspects were arrested by ISWAP fighters from their homes across different communities in Borno State, while the police officer was reportedly captured along the Gubio–Damasak road.
Although the arrests occurred at different times and locations, the eight men were allegedly executed on the same day.
“ISWAP announced a new series of executions of spies and CJTF militiamen loyal to the Nigerian army. All were captured from their houses by the group, along with one police officer captured between Gubio and Damasak. A total of eight men were executed in one day,” Philip wrote.
He further claimed that the recent executions may be connected to intelligence obtained from the mobile phone of the late Brigadier General Musa Uba, who was earlier captured and killed by ISWAP.
“All these executions are possibly linked to intelligence leaks from Brigadier General Musa Uba’s phone after he was captured and executed by ISWAP,” he added.
Philip also recalled that ISWAP had recently released images showing the execution of two alleged Nigerian Army informants, dressed in orange jumpsuits, noting that the group may release a full video at a later time.
