Isaac Fayose Faces Backlash After Meeting Seyi Tinubu Despite Declaring Support for Peter Obi

Social commentator Isaac Fayose has come under heavy criticism after photos and videos of him spending time with Seyi Tinubu sparked debate across social media.

The reaction came after a popular video showed Fayose attending prayers for President Bola Tinubu, which many consumers claimed went against his protracted support for Peter Obi.

The News Chronicle reports that Fayose has routinely said he is “101 percent Obidient” and recently attacked the Tinubu government in public.

He has charged the government with neglecting Nigerians and earlier said he disavowed President Tinubu over violence, economic suffering, and what he termed as the administration’s concentration on politics above governance.

Though some supporters defended his right to keep personal relationships across political lines, others questioned his consistency in the most recent appearance with Seyi Tinubu.

Stand-up comedian Deeone dragged the social commentator and said: “You Claim To Be In The Opposition, Yet You’re Busy Dining With Seyi Tinubu And Praying For President Tinubu. If This Photo Hadn’t Surfaced, You Wouldn’t Have Confessed And Told Nigerians The Truth. Nigerians, Are You Sure These People Calling Themselves Opposition Are Truly In The Opposition? Because Many Of Them Actually Love Tinubu.”

Moris Monye, who is a very close friend of Peter Obi and also an Obidient quoted the viral tweet and said:”LOL. One invite to Aso-Rock and that’s it. 😊 Why this story.”

Another popular Nigerian political commentator, content creator, and social media influencer also added: “Isaac Fayose, You Claim To Support Peter Obi, Yet You’re Praying For Tinubu And Singing ‘On Your Mandate.’ Now That You’ve Been Exposed, You’re Doing Damage Control.”

Fayose has stressed that he remains dedicated to backing Peter Obi and has emphasized that praying for the President and keeping friendships with APC members does not alter his political loyalty.
