Manchester United has announced the departure of interim manager Ruud van Nistelrooy, following the appointment of Ruben Amorim as the club’s new head coach.
Van Nistelrooy stepped in as interim head after Erik ten Hag’s dismissal due to a disappointing start to the season. In his brief tenure, Van Nistelrooy went unbeaten, securing three wins and a draw in four games.
The club statement read:
“Manchester United can confirm that Ruud van Nistelrooy has left the club. Ruud rejoined in the summer and led the team as interim head coach for the past four matches.”
The club expressed gratitude for his contributions and announced that his backroom staff—Rene Hake, Jelle ten Rouwelaar, and Pieter Morel—have also departed:
“We appreciate his commitment and professionalism during his time here, and he will always be welcomed at Old Trafford. We will announce the full men’s first-team coaching staff shortly,” the statement concluded.
