Insecurity a Plot to Unseat Tinubu in 2027— Kalu Alleges

Former Abia State governor and Senate Chief Whip, Orji Uzor Kalu, has claimed the surge in killings and abductions nationwide is politically driven and aimed at sabotaging President Bola Tinubu’s government.

In an interview with Channels Television monitored by The News Chronicle, Kalu alleged that politicians are bankrolling bandits to create chaos ahead of the 2027 elections using the same tactics he says were deployed to weaken former President Goodluck Jonathan.

“What we’re seeing is a familiar script,” Kalu said. “As elections draw near, some people begin to pressure the government in power. These terrorists and bandits are being orchestrated by certain international actors and local individuals determined to destabilise the country.”

Meanwhile, the lawmaker could not reveal names of the alleged sponsors.
