INEC Bows to Public Pressure, Extends PVC Collection in Anambra till Nov. 2

In response to the appeal by various stakeholders, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has extended the Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) collection ahead the coming November 8 Anambra governorship election, by five days.

The announcement was made by the Commission’s Director, Voter Education and Publicity, Mrs Gloria Eta-Messi on Monday night.

Recall that the PVC collection had earlier ended on Sunday, October 26, 2025.

However, there have been demands from critical stakeholders for the extension of the exercise to enable eligible persons to collect their PVCs.

Eta-Messi revealed that after a meeting of the Commission on Monday, in response to several appeals from citizens and stakeholders requesting additional time to enable eligible voters to collect their cards, the Commission has now extended the PVC collection for five days, beginning from Wednesday, October 29 to end on Sunday, November 2.

She revealed that the exercise also covers persons who registered during the recent Continuous Voter Registration, CVR, exercise in the state.
She said the collection of the PVCs would be at the 326 registration areas, otherwise called wards, across the state.

“Registered voters who are yet to collect their PVCs are encouraged to take advantage of this extended window to do so at the designated collection centres across the 326 Registration Areas in Anambra State,” the statement said.

The commission, however, warned that PVCs could only be collected by the real owner, adding that nobody would be allowed to collect PVC on behalf of anyone or by proxy.

“INEC appreciates the patience, enthusiasm, and cooperation of the good people of Anambra State and urges all eligible voters to use this opportunity to collect their PVCs and get ready to participate in the forthcoming Governorship Election,” the statement concluded.
