Imolites: Command Your Hope!

Speaking Truth to Sen. Hope Uzodima

Four years of Sen. Hope Uzodimma on 15th of Jan 2024 ended, heralding yet another four years. Baring any pronouncement from the judiciary which seems the visible, functional and last standing institution in the process of electoral conduct and pronouncement, his four years is a done deal.

Looking back, there were a lot of bickering, acrimony, bad politics, image staining and laundry, hyping, lies, over promises etc in the last four years.

It wasn’t a case of one man culpability, it was more of a collective one, we all shared certain percentages from the whole drama of distractions, denying our state and the teeming population of the poor masses premium dividend of democracy.

Though the government gained some commendable mileages, many filtered away through the conduit of dirty politics of divide and rule, corruption, inefficiency, lacklustre managerial display of some government aids and of course deliberate fanning of the flame of insecurity, though genuine ones existed and still exist.

For four years the government of Sen. Hope Uzodimma will be staring at us. His voice, his name and signature would be an official insignia, approving contracts, closing and signing addresses, adorning bill boards, advertorials and rendering speeches.

Nothing changes except God comes or the Supreme Court which was equally the platform on which his first tenure was delivered to him decides to maintain its pattern.

Until then, it will only be wise for Imolites to continue to command their hope. There is a hope they all had about Imo State. That hope isn’t gone to the ashes? That Hope should be renewed and its deemed light relit and rekindled for a brighter Imo State.

Since this year, on many social platforms, people, the religious ones have deviced ways of commanding their day. They are becoming sensitive of the devices of the enemies in our usual Christian parlance, taking charge of the dawn at its threshold to settle a lot of battles. Such of course is their belief and it works for them if you seek my opinion on it.

This is a very good time to command the hope we all have for Imo State. Things are by day getting tougher. Food and human Insecurity raging. Nothing is sure any more. The free fall of naira against dollar very scary. It appears the expertise of our economic theorists to profer workable solution is failing? Nothing seems to give us the hope we all have.

Listening to the second inaugural speech of Sen. Hope Uzodimma, one could see hope. Imolites can command this hope into reality. Think about it, virtualize it, make it a daily affirmative charge with an intensity of mind.

One may wonder how all this will translate into something very beneficial. The twist here is, if 90% of Imolites begin to think in that direction, unconsciously the massive energy that would be generated by this collective positive energy would become the driving force that would determine what happens in the state.

Both the governor and his team would become unconsciously influenced by such energy, doing nothing but what the hope of the masses is commanding ( good roads, good security, quality human security, premium educational system etc) It may sound very ludicrous, too pedestrian to be scientifically and administratively tenable, however it works.

Let us get together, pull ourselves by our shoe strings, affirm positive thoughts and wishes for our state and engage less in politics of bitterness, acrimony, spread of fake news, PhD syndrome etc.

We are all composite beings of body, soul and spirit. Of the three, the spirit operates on a higher frequency if you ask me.

It rules others if energizes properly. It is at this level one commands and its results becomes more like a miracle.

Questions upon questions on what happened to the pre election campaign promise of four thousand foreign jobs for Imo youths. Watching him yesterday on Channels TV Politics Today, a clarification was made on that and more than the promised figure presently working for foreign companies according to Sen. Hope Uzodimma

As you command your hope to reality, hold still Sen Hope to account as he promised to dwarf his last tenure achievement, leaving Imo State after four years with zero security challenges.

“I am a critical thinker without sounding intellectually arrogant” according to him and on this he knows what his people wants. His words not mine. Still command it to come. Don’t wave it away as Political rhetorics, command it to be.

Sen. Hope Uzodimma from what he said on Channels yesterday and the synopsis of his second tenure inaugural speech one may be encouraged to believe him. Though trust issues may come in-between, however, it is always better to think positive, hope for a better future, and affirmatively expect it to become than foreclosing its possibility.

I wish him well. Four years is already running. His last opportunity to rewrite history and engrave his name where it will either be celebrated , revered, honoured or despised by this generation and the ones to come. The ball is on his court. The choice certainly his too. If only he is ready to die for this course of rebuilding Imo with a passion so consistently intensed, he may midstream, get distracted and derailed.

I pray this passion I saw in him expressed yesterday would be pursued with intensity.

Politicians and the masses have been very consistent in making beautiful promises and wishing for their fulfilment respectively. If you ask me, the challenge lies in the lack of intensity to hold on them until they manifest.let us do things differently now! Imo will be better!!
