Presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, Peter Obi, has declared that he is prepared to make the ultimate sacrifice for Nigeria, insisting that the country must decisively confront rising insecurity and the threat posed by non-state actors.
Obi made the declaration during an interview aired by Nevon Media on Tuesday, where he stressed the need for strong leadership and a unified command structure in tackling the nation’s security challenges.
According to him, the fight against insecurity requires courage, commitment, and a willingness to put the country’s survival above personal interests.
“One person must be in charge. We declare war. If you’re ready to live, you must be ready to die. If you’re not ready to die, go home,” Obi said.
The former Anambra State governor also dismissed any suggestion of divided allegiance, stating that he has no reason to hold the passport of another country.
“I am ready to die for Nigeria. It is one country. We cannot allow non-state actors to take over the state,” he said.
