I’m Not Bothered- Nancy Isime Speaks Out Amid Criticism Over Outfit In A New Movie Role

Nigerian actress, Nancy Isime has reacted amid criticisms for the ban of a controversial film she starred in.

The Nollywood star recently shared photos from scenes of the yet-to-be-released movie, where she could be seen wearing a hijab while holding a gun.

A hijab is a long garment worn by some Muslim women to cover their entire body and face, excluding their eyes.

The post, however, stirred widespread condemnation on social media, with some users expressing anger with the actress for dressing in Muslim attire while displaying a robbery scene from the movie.

Reacting to the matter, the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) urged the NFVCB to ban the controversial film, which it described as “satanic”.

NFVCB also disclosed the film producers are “working to address the issues raised by the public”.

In what appeared to be a cryptic response to the criticism of her upcoming movie, Isime, via an Intagram post shared a series of photos with captions emphasizing her focus on peace and personal goals.

Really out the way. In my own world. No drama, no gossip. Just goals and money. Peace is where I’m at,” she wrote in the photos.

“I don’t bother nobody & I’m not bothered by nobody. That’s my peace. To protect my peace, I stopped taking other people’s projected opinions personally.

“Reminder: Your light often highlights other people’s insecurities and shortcomings, which they will then project back to you as a flaw. It’s a coping mechanism. Attacking you makes them feel safer.

“Isime baby, omo ologo 5g. The brightest light. The city on a hill that can never be hidden. The Nancy Isime. Big name, big force.

Getting talked about do not faze me. Look at people who are talking.”

Recall that a news blog had reported that the actress was among the alleged list of Senate president, Godswill Apkabio’s sidechicks.
