Former Anambra State Governor, Willie Obiano, on Friday shut down viral rumours of his death, declaring that he is “alive, hale, hearty, and in excellent health.”
In a statement on his Facebook page, Obiano said he woke to an avalanche of calls and messages after false reports about his wellbeing spread online.
The statement reads in parts; “It is unfortunate that some people still find joy in peddling falsehood. But we will continue to rise above such mischief.”
He expressed gratitude to those who reached out with concern and prayers, saying their support “means more than words can express.”
Obiano urged the public to ignore the rumour completely, adding that he remains “focused, grateful, and guided by God’s grace.”
