Ikorodu Magistrate’s Court Approves Second Autopsy for Late Singer Mohbad

The Ikorodu Magistrate’s Court in Lagos State has allowed the family of the late singer Mohbad to conduct a second autopsy.

The family was unhappy with the first autopsy results, which were inconclusive.

Mohbad, a 27-year-old singer, died under unclear circumstances on September 12, 2023, and was buried the next day. Due to public pressure to find out the cause of his death, his body was exhumed on September 21, 2023, for an autopsy at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH).

However, his family rejected the results because they didn’t reveal the cause of death. They requested the court ensure an independent toxicology report be submitted before the final report is given to the authorities.

During a hearing on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, the Ikorodu Magistrate’s Court granted the family’s request for a second autopsy.
