Idinye Chides Orbih, Shaibu For Making Snide Remarks After Court Ruling, Says Ighodalo Remains PDP Guber Candidate

Former governorship aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in Edo State, High Chief Jacob Egietseme Idinye, on Tuesday, warned members and leadership of the party in Nigeria to be cautious of moles in the party fold, saying they were out to sabotage the chances of PDP winning the forthcoming September 21, 2024 governorship election in the state.

Reacting specifically to the postures of the former Deputy Governor of Edo State, Philip Shaibu and the PDP National Vice Chairman, South-South, Dan Orbih and their ilk who were jubilating over the ruling of Federal High Court Abuja, on Thursday, which reportedly invalidated the PDP primary election that produced Asue Ighodalo as party’s candidate in the forthcoming governorship election in Edo.

High Chief Idinye who passionately took a swipe at those he perceived to be moles in the party in Tuesday spoke to some selected journalists at Transcorp Hilton in the nation’s capital, Abuja, maintaining that victory was on the way for PDP in the forthcoming 2024 gubernatorial election adding that Asu Ighodalo remains the party’s candidate in the contest.

Idinye said, “It is appalling and highly preposterous for the former Deputy Governor of Edo State Philip Shaibu and the PDP National Vice Chairman, South-South, Dan Orbih and their ilk to condescend so low by jubilating over a purported court ruling which thinkered with the affairs of the PDP in the forthcoming Edo gubernatorial election.

What they also don’t know is that the reliefs sought by the plaintiffs do not include the disqualification and/or nullification of the Primary election of Dr. Asue Ighodalo as the winner of the Edo State Governorship Primary election of the PDP. The Court is not Father Christmas.”

“The shenanigans of the fifth columnists in the September 21, 2024 election in our state are patently fruitless and perverse. Meanwhile, I strongly believe that Asue Ighodalo remains the best man for the Edo State top seat after the completion of the tenure of His Excellency Governor Godwin Obaseki.”

Speaking further at the media parley, the Etsako born media guru and politician stated;

“The general public utterances, innuendos, and despicable conducts of these supposed party leaders have clearly shown that some people have no conscience, no leadership qualities and have no moral rectitude. These are people who have benefited from the party at various capacities but have now decided to play opposition in a most infantile and ridiculous manner within the party, while also trying to serve as barriers to the wheel of progress.

“The reality is that they have all failed and they even failed woefully. Dr. Asue Ighodalo will continue to enjoy the solidarity and support of the overwhelming majority of the people of Edo State; he remains focused on his issue-based campaign and will not be distracted from his vision and agenda of moving Edo State to another level of prosperity and development on the platform the PDP. Asue will not only win but will record an unprecedented landslide victory, because the people of Edo State prefer a technocrat and not a charlatan to govern them.”
