I’d lie if I said I didn’t think about the Saudi offer — Bernardo Silva

Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva has asserted that it was not easy rejecting the massive deal he got from one of the Saudi Pro League sides during the summer. The Portuguese was tempted by Al Hilal who offered him three times his Manchester City wages to join them during the previous transfer summer. Silva, who earns around £150,000 at Manchester City, was heavily enticed to switch his allegiance after a £500,000 a week offer was made by Al Hilal.

Bernardo Silva to RTP:

“I’d lie if I said I didn’t think about the Saudi offer”.

“But what interested me was the heat of a UCL semi-final, the stadium going wild after scoring against Madrid or when we won the final”.

“I didn’t want to give up on that”. Since joining City six years ago, Silva has been a pivotal role for the club, most especially when David Silva and a few others left the club.

Pep Guardiola, who is a massive admirer of Silva, some weeks back, disclosed that he has no problem with any of his players joining a rival team when asked about Cole Palmer’s move to Chelsea.
