IAEA Reports Iran’s 60% Enriched Uranium Could Fuel More Than Ten Nuclear Bombs

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has disclosed that Iran possesses a stockpile of enriched uranium that could potentially be used to produce more than ten nuclear weapons if further processed.

In its latest report, the IAEA confirmed that Iran has accumulated a significant quantity of uranium enriched up to 60 percent purity, a level close to the 90 percent enrichment typically required for weapons-grade material.

However, the agency stressed that Iran does not currently possess nuclear weapons and that there is no evidence the material has been further enriched to weapons-grade level.

According to the UN nuclear watchdog, while the volume of enriched uranium is concerning, inspectors have not detected any indication that Tehran has begun efforts to manufacture a nuclear bomb.

The IAEA emphasized the need for continued monitoring and comprehensive inspections to determine the future direction of Iran’s nuclear program and to ensure compliance with international obligations.
The development is expected to heighten global attention on Iran’s nuclear activities amid ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at preventing nuclear proliferation.
