The Speaker, House of Representatives, Alhaji Aminu Tambuwal has said that he will continue to work towards the unity of Nigeria irrespective of all the challenges. According to him, safeguarding the unity of the country is a task that he must continue to do.
The Speaker made this statement at the closing ceremony of the National Quranic Recitation Competition in Dutse where he was a special guest.
He said that the breakup of the Nigeria as some had preached was not the best for the country. He gave South Sudan which has been engulfed by crisis as an example of what a breakup could do to the Nigerian peoples.
Governor of Lagos State, Mr Raji Fashola who was present on the occasion urged Muslims to obey the teaching of the holy Quran. He explained that the Quran contained various aspects of human life which includes nurturing children, taking care of wives and good governance.
