Hunters flush out bandits and kidnappers in Bauchi, arrest many

On the night of January 22, 2024, the dedicated members of the Nigerian Hunters and Forest Security Service (NHFSS) undertook a courageous mission in Bauchi state, targeting a den of bandits.

In a commendable display of bravery, the NHFSS operatives not only apprehended numerous suspects but also seized their weapons, liberating several captives in the process.

The relentless efforts of NHFSS extend beyond this specific operation, as they consistently contribute to combating crime across Nigeria’s 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

Over the recent weekend, these vigilant operatives conducted raids in Kogi, Kebbi, and the FCT, successfully rescuing kidnapped individuals and apprehending criminals, whom they handed over to relevant security agencies.

What sets the NHFSS apart is their pivotal role in intelligence gathering, leveraging their specialized training and intimate knowledge of local terrains.

A significant number of NHFSS members hail from their immediate villages and clans, instilling in them a sense of duty to protect both the nation and their own relatives.

This deep commitment is evident in the vigor with which they execute their responsibilities.

The prevailing belief is that if all citizens unite with the federal government, aligning with the Renewed Hope Agenda led by President Bola Tinubu, Nigeria stands a strong chance of defeating its adversaries and reclaiming the country. This collective effort is earnestly prayed for.

Acknowledgment is due to Dr. Wole Joshua Osatimehin, the Commander General of the NHFSS, for his inspiring leadership that motivates officers and men alike to achieve remarkable feats.

Additionally, commendation extends to Dr. John Metchie, the Deputy Commander General (Technical Services), for adeptly coordinating logistics and strategies that contribute significantly to the NHFSS’s invaluable contributions to national security and development.
