How UNIJOS Student Was Beaten To Death By Course Mates Over N30k Bribe For Grades

—

Report has it that a 300-level medical student of the University of Jos (Unijos), identified as Abdulsalam Idris, has died after allegedly sustaining severe injuries following an assault by a group allegedly led by a fellow student identified as Fisal Dahiru Ibrahim.

It was gathered that the student passed on in the institution’s clinic on Thursday, April 4, 2024.

Confirming the incident, the school’s security unit disclosed that the corpse had been transferred to the Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH) for autopsy.

According to the acting Chief Security Officer of the institution, Agama Solomon, the suspect claimed to have given one Abdulsalam N30,000 to bribe a technician for examination grades but that when the results were released and the suspect failed he  reportedly orchestrated an attack that led to Abdulsalam’s death.

Solomon, revealed that the suspect had been apprehended and handed over to the police.

It was reported that the incident occurred shortly after both the victim and the suspect completed their 300L final examination.

The death of Abdulsalam stirred concerns among his peers, who believed that such a violent outcome was unjustified and that he did not deserve to be treated in a manner that led to his death.
