How to Disable “Contact Joined Telegram” Notifications

Telegram is a popular messaging app known for its privacy features and robust group chat capabilities. However, with the convenience of staying connected comes a flurry of notifications, including those that inform you when a contact has joined Telegram. While this can be useful, some users find these notifications intrusive or distracting. If you’re one of them, don’t worry; we’ll guide you through the process of disabling contact joined Telegram notifications.

Why Disable Contact Joined Notifications?

Contact joined notifications can be handy, especially if you want to keep track of when friends or colleagues join Telegram. It’s a quick way to know when someone you know has entered the platform. However, these notifications can quickly become overwhelming as your contact list grows. They may disrupt your workflow or fill your notification bar with alerts you don’t necessarily need. Fortunately, Telegram provides an option to manage and disable these notifications as needed.

Here’s how you can do it:

Method 1: Mute Individual Chats

Open Telegram: Launch the Telegram app on your device.

Disable “Contact Joined Telegram”: Inside the “Custom Notifications” settings, you’ll find an option labeled “Contact Joined Telegram.” Toggle it off to disable joined notifications for this specific contact.

Save Changes: Remember to save your changes, usually by pressing the checkmark or “Save” button.

Method 2: Adjust Global Notification Settings

If you want to disable contact joined notifications for all your contacts, you can adjust the global notification settings:
