How to Apply for an Affidavit Online with the Federal High Court’s New Portal

The Federal High Court (FHC) has made it easier for Nigerians to obtain affidavits with its new online application portal.
This service allows individuals to apply for affidavits like age declarations, name changes, and loss of items without visiting the court in person.
Follow these simple steps to use the portal:
Step 1: Access the Portal
Open your web browser and go to the FHC affidavit portal by entering [portal.fhc.gov.ng](http://portal.fhc.gov.ng) into the address bar.
Step 2: Create an Account or Log In
If you are a first-time user, you’ll need to create an account. Click the “Register” button and fill in your details. For returning users, simply log in with your credentials.
Step 3: Choose Affidavit Type
After logging in, select the type of affidavit you want to apply for. Common options include:
– Loss of items
– Age declaration
– Change of name
Step 4: Fill in the Necessary Information
You will be prompted to provide details specific to the affidavit you are applying for. Make sure all the information is correct before proceeding.
Step 5: Submit and Make Payment
After filling out the form, submit your application and follow the instructions for making the required payment online.
Step 6: Download Your Affidavit
Once your payment is confirmed, the affidavit will be processed and made available for download directly from the portal.
Note:
– Currently, the portal only handles non-case-related affidavits. If you need an affidavit to support a legal case, you will still need to visit the court physically.
By using the FHC online portal, you can save time and avoid long queues at the courthouse.
