How prayers helped me to win 38 court cases – Oborevwori

Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori has expressed appreciation to Church leaders for their prayers, leading to his survival of 38 court cases from pre-election to post election cases to the Supreme Court. 

Governor Oborevwori stated this on Saturday at the wedding ceremony of Mr and Mrs Ovoke Akpobasa held at Light of Christ Ministry, Sapele.

He described the groom as a son to him and congratulated him and his wife on their successful marriage ceremony.

Oborevwori who said he was Governor for all Deltans, said he wasn’t bothered about the size of the church when he was told, stressing that one could serve God anywhere.

The Governor who was accompanied by his wife, Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori and top government functionaries, said: “I want to thank all the great men of God that stood firm praying for me to survive 38 cases. It was indeed the grace of God.”

Chairman of the occasion and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress APC, Chief Ominimini Obiuwevbi described Governor Oborevwori as people friendly and grassrooted leader.

Chief Obiuwevbi expressed joy at the presence of the Governor at the event and said, “this is the first time I am seeing a Governor that is so grassrooted, and attending ceremonies.

“I am therefore led by God Almighty to pray for the Governor, Your Excellency, by the authority of the Lord you serve, it shall be well with you, receive mercy, receive more opportunities and grace, the Lord will be gracious to you.”

He commended the newly weds for being obedient to their parents, saying coming together as couple is a thing of joy to their parents and honouring parents is a biblical injunction.

He charged them to continue to love each other, saying that the marriage institution was a place of continuous learning, but that they must have love and tolerance for each other.

Earlier in a sermon titled “The Pillars of Marriage”, the pastor of Light of Christ Ministry, Sapele, Pastor Efe Okuigbedi admonished the couple to be Live as friends, pray together, love each other and never allow third parties in their home.
