An elderly hospital security guard, identified as Malam Ado Shu’aibu Maki, was reportedly murdered by suspected thieves during an attack on a hospital in Danlasan Ward, Warawa Local Government Area of Kano State.
According to a statement issued on Saturday, July 4, 2026, by the Director of Information and Public Enlightenment to the Chairman of Warawa Local Government, Hamza Kinchau, the incident occurred on the night of Friday, July 3, 2026.
The statement said the attackers allegedly slit the victim’s throat before making away with medical equipment from the hospital where he worked as a security guard.
Chairman of Warawa Local Government, Hon. Lamido Sunusi Ahmad, expressed his condolences to the family of the deceased and the people of Danlasan Ward over the tragic incident.
He also called on security agencies to launch a thorough investigation, apprehend those responsible, and ensure they are prosecuted in accordance with the law.
