His Life Was Defined by Sacrifice- Obi Mourns Ex-UN Peacekeeper, Lt. Gen. Obiakor

Presidential aspirant of the NDC, Peter Obi has expressed deep sorrow over the death of retired Lt. Gen. Chikadibia Isaac Obiakor, describing him as a courageous patriot, distinguished soldier, and one of Nigeria’s finest international peacekeepers.

In a heartfelt tribute, Obi said the late military officer served Nigeria with remarkable bravery and integrity, earning respect both at home and on the global stage through his work with the United Nations.

Obi revealed that he had spoken with the late general only a few weeks ago and referenced him publicly as recently as last Monday, making the news of his death even more painful.

“His life was defined by sacrifice, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to peace and humanity.

“From his service in the Nigerian military to his contributions to international peacekeeping missions, Gen. Obiakor embodied professionalism, discipline, and selfless service.” He said.

The former Anambra State governor added that the late general inspired countless military officers and young Nigerians to embrace service, integrity, and patriotism.

Obi extended his condolences to the family of the deceased, the Nigerian Armed Forces, and all those mourning the loss, praying for God to grant the late elder statesman eternal rest and comfort his loved ones during the difficult period.
