He Collected ₦2m— Olasco Films Denies Okunnu’s Claim, Slams Austin Emmanuel

Veteran movie marketer, Akeem Olatunji Balogun, popularly known as Olasco Films, has responded to allegations made against him by actors Okunnu and Austin Emmanuel.

Balogun addressed the matter on February 17, 2026, during an interview with actor Tunde Ola-Yusuf.

Okunnu had earlier alleged that Balogun withheld proceeds from a film produced approximately 16 years ago. In a recent interview, he stated, “I haven’t forgiven Olasco,” maintaining that he did not receive appropriate payment from the project.

Responding to the allegation, Balogun said he paid Okunnu ₦2 million at the time to produce the film. He noted that production costs during that period ranged between ₦700,000 and ₦1 million.

“For him to say he worked for me without pay is dishonest; he collected ₦2 million from me 16 years ago,” Balogun said. He compared the actor’s actions to “a blind man who used a walking stick and threw it away after regaining his sight.”

In a separate development, Austin Emmanuel had earlier accused Balogun and his associate, Toymax Films, of blacklisting him in the film industry.

Emmanuel, who has been largely absent from the screen in recent years, also alleged that Toymax engaged in a personal relationship with his partner, Aisha Raji.

Balogun denied the claims. He said he contributed to Emmanuel’s rise to prominence by promoting the film that brought him recognition.

“Austin Emmanuel wants to trend with my name. I assisted him to advertise the very movie that made him famous,” Balogun said.

As of the time of this report, neither Okunnu nor Austin Emmanuel has issued a further response to Balogun’s latest remarks.
