Renowned actor Sir Michael Gambon, best known for his portrayal of Albus Dumbledore in the Harry Potter film series, has left his entire fortune to his wife of 61 years, Anne Gambon. This revelation comes following the publication of his will, which was made public today.
In a three-page document obtained by the Daily Mail, it was disclosed that Gambon’s long-term girlfriend, Philipa Hart, received no part of his estate. Hart, a set designer, shared a two-decade-long relationship with Gambon and is the mother of their two teenage children, Tom and William, aged 17 and 15 respectively.
The will, drafted in 2016, appointed Anne and their son Fergus, aged 60, as the executors. It stipulates that in the event of Anne’s passing before Gambon, the entire £1,465,882 fortune would go to Fergus. Meanwhile, each of Gambon’s children with Hart received £10,000 along with a trophy, with Fergus being the primary beneficiary.
The announcement of Gambon’s death last September was made by his wife and son, who expressed their profound grief. They stated that Gambon passed away peacefully in a hospital after battling pneumonia, with his family by his side.
Sir Michael Gambon’s illustrious career spanned six decades, earning him numerous accolades including three Olivier Awards, two Screen Actors Guild Awards, and four BAFTAs.
