Hardship: Adamawa govt maintains 10,000 naira monthly allowance for NYSC members

The Adamawa State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to continue providing a monthly stipend of 10,000 naira to every participant enrolled in the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program serving within the state.

This ongoing initiative underscores the government’s dedication to supporting and empowering young individuals contributing to community development through the NYSC service.

They said they’re doing this because prices are going up a lot in the country, and they want to help.

The Deputy Governor of the state, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, promised this on Tuesday when she talked to 1,700 corps members of the 2024 Batch ‘A’ Stream 1 during their swearing-in ceremony at the NYSC Orientation Camp, Damare, near Yola.

She told the corps members that they would have a safe and good environment to work in during their service time.

She said, “My dear friends, we promise to keep giving you the N10,000 every month to help with the high prices we are facing now. And I trust that you will work hard and be good at your jobs.”

She also said, “I hope you take advantage of the opportunities we provide for you to learn new skills and start your own businesses through our Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development Programme.”

The state NYSC Coordinator, Mr. Jingi Denis, also thanked the state government for giving the allowance and for helping with the food for corps members and camp officials.

He told the members of the corps to continue being disciplined and excited about what they do. He said they should keep following the rules and stay eager and interested in their tasks.
