Happening Now: VP Shettima, Others Speaks at the 5th Lake Chad Basin Governors’ Forum

Nigeria’s Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima, addressed participants at the 5th Lake Chad Basin Governors’ Forum.

Similarly, Nigeria’s Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Garba Musa, thanked the Governors of the Lake Chad Basin Governors’ Forum for their continued support of the armed forces.

Speaking at the 5th Lake Chad Governors’ Forum, General Musa stressed the importance of action over words, saying, “This is not the time for speeches but a time for action.”

He also emphasized the need to integrate both kinetic and non-kinetic strategies to effectively tackle insurgency in the region.

General Musa, who has served in various roles, including as the Commander of Operation Hadin Kai, has played a significant role in the fight against Boko Haram insurgents.

Reflecting on his connection to Maiduguri, he said, “Maiduguri has always felt like home to me. It has provided us with the platform to demonstrate our professionalism.”
