Hajiya Umma El-Rufai, mother of former Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai, has been laid to rest in Abuja on Sunday.
She was buried at Gudu Cemetery after funeral prayers conducted in accordance with Islamic rites.
According to reports, the matriarch died on Friday in Cairo, where she had been receiving medical treatment.
Top government officials, political leaders, and associates attended the burial to pay their final respects. Among those who sent condolence messages were President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, and National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu.
Also present were prominent political figures, including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, who visited the family to offer condolences.
