A group of people suspected of being terrorists kidnapped a China citizen on Thursday morning.
They also killed one officer from the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Obangede, Okehi Local Government Area of Kogi State.
The NSCDC officer who died was supposed to protect the Chinese road engineer who got kidnapped.
When asked for more information, the police spokesperson for the state, William Ovye Aya, said he will share more details later.
This incident happened not long after another similar event on February 3. Around 14 passengers from God Is Good (GIG) Motors and ABC Transport were kidnapped in Kogi while they were going to Abuja. It happened in Inyele Eteke, Olamaboro LGA.
The passengers who got kidnapped were traveling from the southeast part of Nigeria. They were released after some days in captivity.
The people who kidnapped them stopped their vehicles and took them away forcefully. Then they asked each person for a ransom of N15 million to let them go.
