The Champions League game at Camp Nou is coming, and Messi will be there, walking around…
Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi is arguably the best player of all time, and he’s fascinating in every aspect. Very few players in history have the full package and an ability to score, pass and dribble better than everybody else on the pitch in every game.
Messi is also fascinating by the manner in which he plays: forget the amazing dribbles, passes and goals and you’ll see Messi walking around the pitch for about 70% of the game. He looks lazy, not interested in what’s going on, but as soon as he has the ball on his feet, it seems like something switches in his brain and he goes into Assassin Mode.
So why does Messi walk around so much? Does he really not care about the game until the ball is at his feet? Well, leave it to Pep Guardiola, the coach that turned Messi into the best player of all time, explain the player’s style:
“Look at Messi, it looks like he’s walking around the pitch….he sees that he’s alone; when he sees that they’re watching him, he distances himself…
“He spends the game walking, x-raying every single moment. He’s the player who runs the least in La Liga – but when the ball comes to him, he has the complete X-ray of space-time. He knows exactly where everyone is. And Pam!”

So when you see Messi walking around the pitch during the Champions League match against Manchester City at Camp Nou next week, be afraid. He’s probably getting ready to kill.
