The Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF) has submitted its contribution on the proposed state police framework to the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, for onward transmission to the National Assembly for legislative consideration.

NGF Chairman and Kwara State Governor, Abdulrahman AbdulRazaq, disclosed this after a meeting with President Bola Tinubu at his Ikoyi residence in Lagos on Sunday.

AbdulRazaq said the governors remain committed to strengthening collaboration with security agencies to combat terrorism, improve infrastructure, and enhance citizens’ welfare.

The proposed state police system continues to generate debate nationwide, with supporters saying it will boost community-level security, while critics warn of possible misuse by state authorities.
