Governor Babagana Umara Zulum recently visited the victims of the recent bomb blast in Kawuri, who are currently receiving treatment at the state Specialist Hospital in Maiduguri.

During his visit on Friday, Governor Zulum expressed his deep concern over the increasing frequency of such violent incidents and emphasised the urgent need for comprehensive action to address this troubling trend.
In his address, Governor Zulum underscored the state government’s commitment to thoroughly reviewing the policy on the use of urea fertilizers, which have been linked to the recent bomb blasts.
He acknowledged the potential dangers posed by these substances and stressed the importance of ensuring public safety through stricter regulations and oversight.
Governor Zulum also took the opportunity to extend his heartfelt gratitude to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), the Ministry of Health, and the security operatives for their unwavering support and swift response to the victims’ needs.
He assured them that the government would provide additional assistance to help the victims recover and rebuild their lives.
Addressing the recent protests, Governor Zulum mentioned the imposition of a temporary curfew, which was based on credible intelligence reports.
He reassured the public that the situation would be closely monitored and reviewed to ensure peace and security in the affected areas.
