Governor Zulum Commissions New Housing for Teachers and Secondary School in Southern Borno

The Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum has demonstrated his commitment to improving the welfare of teachers and expanding educational opportunities in Southern Borno on Thursday.

The governor recently commissioned 10 fully furnished two-bedroom flats for teachers at Government Senior Secondary School (GSS) Buratai.

This initiative aims to provide educators with comfortable living arrangements, enabling them to focus more on their teaching responsibilities and contribute effectively to the educational system.

The newly constructed flats are designed to address the housing challenges faced by teachers, particularly those posted to remote areas.

By providing quality accommodation, the state government hopes to improve teacher retention rates, boost morale, and create a conducive environment for educators to dedicate themselves to their duties.

This, in turn, is expected to have a positive impact on the quality of education delivered at the school, benefiting the students and the community at large.

After commissioning the housing units at GSS Buratai, Governor Zulum traveled to Tum village in Biu Local Government Area, where he inaugurated the newly built Government Day Secondary School.

The construction of this secondary school is a significant milestone in the state’s efforts to provide more educational opportunities for its citizens, particularly in rural areas.

The new facility is equipped with modern classrooms, staff offices, and other necessary infrastructure to ensure a conducive learning environment for students.

Governor Zulum emphasized the importance of education in the development of the state and reiterated his administration’s dedication to expanding access to quality education for all.
