The flag-off ceremony took place on Thursday, marking another significant milestone in the governor’s broader agenda to upgrade urban infrastructure across the state, particularly through his ambitious Network 11-100 initiative.

During his address at the ceremony, Governor Inuwa Yahaya elaborated on the scope of the project, which involves the reconstruction of four existing roads and the creation of a new one.

The roads earmarked for reconstruction include the Tashan Magarya to Market road, Jibilu to Kembu road, Kambariki to Jaurori road, and the Market Roundabout to Kembu road.

“Additionally, a new road will be constructed from Anguwan Tera to Tembe, further expanding the town’s road network.”

Governor Yahaya emphasized that these projects are not just about improving road conditions but are also part of a comprehensive plan to transform Kumo into a more accessible and connected town.

He highlighted that the roads have been neglected for years, and the current administration is determined to rectify this through significant infrastructure improvements.

“These projects are about paving the way for progress and prosperity for our people. We are not just reconstructing roads; we are reconstructing the future of Kumo,” the governor stated. He also assured the residents that these roads will be complemented by additional infrastructure, including street lighting and water pipelines, to ensure that the town’s development is holistic.

Governor Yahaya called on the residents of Kumo to take ownership of the projects, urging them to support and maintain the new infrastructure.

He reiterated his administration’s commitment to continuing the development of Kumo and Akko Local Government Area, promising even more progress in the years to come.

In addition to the road projects, Governor Inuwa Yahaya inspected the ongoing reconstruction of the Akko Local Government Secretariat in Kumo.

Accompanied by the Director General of the Joint Project Development Agency, Dr. Mahmood Yusuf, the governor expressed his satisfaction with the quality and pace of the work.

He highlighted that the reconstructed secretariat will significantly enhance the administrative capacity of the local government, thereby improving governance and service delivery in the area.

The governor also visited the palace of the Emir of Akko, where he engaged with community leaders to discuss the needs and aspirations of the people of Akko.

During this meeting, he appealed for continued support for his administration’s policies and programs, which are focused on improving the well-being of the people of Gombe State.

In their respective remarks, prominent figures from Akko, including the Chief Whip of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Usman Bello Kumo, the Speaker of the Gombe State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Abubakar Mohammed Luggerewo, the Chairman of Akko LGA, Hon. Mohammed Danladi Adamu, and the Emir of Akko, HRH Alhaji Umar Muhammed Atiku, expressed their gratitude to Governor Inuwa Yahaya.
