The Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, has reacted to ongoing speculations about his possible defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing them as rumour that will soon be a reality.
He stated this during a meeting with key political stakeholders from both the APC and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) held at the Banquet hall in Jalingo.
“I have also been hearing the rumour myself, but will make my political position known by next week.
“We are looking into Taraba State of our dream. This is a history for the state to become one. I will give you the leadership you want.
Governor Kefas emphasized that his administration remains guided by the ideals of unity, peace, and progress.
He appreciated the APC for what he described as its open-door policy toward individuals interested in joining the party.
He assured stakeholders that he would continue to uphold justice and fairness, urging citizens to live together in harmony regardless of political affiliations.
He thanked members of both parties for their support and reiterated that every decision he takes is for the best interest of Taraba State.
In his welcome address, the APC State Chairman, Barrister Ibrahim El-Sudi, said the gathering marked a new phase in Taraba’s political evolution and described the Governor’s possible move to the APC as a divine breakthrough that could further consolidate the state’s development drive.
“For the past Thirteen years APC has been working on how to go to the Government House, but couldn’t get. Today by the grace of God in few days to come, we will be there.
He urged the Governor to continue giving every group and individual a sense of belonging in his administration.
