Governor Fintiri Calls on Newly-Elected LG Officials to Uphold Responsibility and Integrity

—

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri charged the 21 newly-elected local government council chairmen and 226 councillors across Adamawa State to uphold their responsibilities to their constituents with dedication and integrity, on Monday.

The governor delivered this directive during the swearing-in ceremony held in Yola, the capital of Adamawa State.

Governor Fintiri commended the citizens of Adamawa for their overwhelming support for the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which was evident from the substantial votes the party received in the recent council elections.

He praised the electorate for their trust and confidence in the PDP, attributing the party’s success to the commitment of its leaders to the welfare of the people.

Addressing the newly-elected officials, Governor Fintiri emphasized the importance of diligent service to the populace, declaring that the era of absenteeism among elected representatives is over.

He underscored the need for transparency and accountability in governance, urging the chairmen and councillors to reject corruption and remain answerable to the electorate.

Governor Fintiri reminded the officials that their performance would directly influence the fortunes of the PDP in future elections.

He called on them to approach their duties with the utmost seriousness and dedication, as their actions would reflect on the party’s reputation and effectiveness.

The governor also appealed to the public to offer their support and prayers for the newly elected leaders and the state government, emphasizing that collective effort and unity are crucial for the development and progress of Adamawa State.
