Gov Sule To Free Inmates Imprisoned For Minor Offenses

Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule has undertaken to pay the compensation due for all offenders convicted and sentenced for minor offenses at various correctional centers in Nasarawa State for their release.

The Nasarawa state Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Barrister Labaran Shuaibu Magaji, made this known on Thursday after a visit to the correctional centre alongside the Honourable Chief Judge of the State, Justice Aisha Bashir-Aliyu.

Mr Magaji who commended Governor Sule over the gesture maintained that the criminal justice system of the State is on a fast wheel.

He added; “Thanks for the initiative. Freedom at last for the masses”.

The Attorney-General assured residents and other Nigerians of the Sule-led administration’s commitment to ensuring access to justice, the rule of law, and human rights being the policy thrust of the Governor in his agenda for repositioning the justice system in Nasarawa State.
