Google is currently testing a new feature in the Play Store called “App Auto Open.”
This feature is designed to automatically launch a newly installed app, enhancing user convenience and app engagement.
The “App Auto Open” feature triggers a notification banner at the top of the screen when a new app is installed.
This banner notifies the user that the app will open automatically.
Depending on the device settings, this notification can ring or vibrate, alerting the user effectively.
Users have the option to silence these notifications, and they are designed to last up to five seconds before disappearing.
By default, the “App Auto Open” feature is enabled, providing immediate functionality for users.
However, recognizing the importance of user preference, Google has included a toggle option allowing users to enable or disable the feature as desired.
Despite the feature being enabled in the Play Store, it is currently not functional.
Google has not provided specific details on when the feature will be fully operational or when it will be available to all users.
In addition to “App Auto Open,” Google has recently introduced several updates to the Play Store:
– The option to “Ask someone else to pay for this item,” facilitating easier purchase gifting.
– The ability to download two apps simultaneously, improving download efficiency.
– An update that allows apps to be updated even with limited mobile data, ensuring users can keep their apps current without relying solely on Wi-Fi.
