Google Chrome is currently testing a new feature aimed at enhancing security on the Android version of the browser.
This feature will require users to authenticate their identity using fingerprint or face recognition when filling in saved passwords, providing an additional layer of protection against info-stealer malware.
The feature is presently available in the Chrome Canary build, where users can enable it through the “chrome://flags” menu.
This development comes after previous attempts by Google to implement a similar authentication process, which were not rolled out widely.
In contrast, competitors like Microsoft Edge have already integrated such security measures.
In addition to this new feature, Google recently introduced other updates for desktop Chrome, including Google Lens integration and an AI-powered history search, further enhancing user experience and functionality.
