Gombe State Governor Suspends Village Head and Councillor Over Transformer Theft Allegations

—

Governor Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State suspended the Village Head of Garin Majidadi, Mohammed Majidadi, and the Councillor representing Kumo East Ward, Abdullahi Panda.

This decision comes in light of their alleged involvement in the theft of a community electricity transformer.

The suspensions were announced through a statement issued by Ismaila Misili, the Director General of Press Affairs at the Government House in Gombe, and were shared with Newsmen on Friday.

The local government authority in Akko also confirmed the suspension of Councillor Panda.

The statement detailed that both officials were arrested and subsequently paraded by the state Police Command.

They have been arraigned on charges of conspiracy related to the theft and sale of the transformer in Garin Majidadi.

Governor Yahaya’s administration took this preventive measure to ensure that the legal process would not be hindered or influenced.

Governor Yahaya reaffirmed his commitment to upholding the rule of law, stating that justice would be served.

He emphasized that the legal process would be carried out thoroughly, not just for Majidadi and Panda, but for anyone else found to be involved in the theft.

The governor’s firm stance on this issue underscores his dedication to maintaining law and order in Gombe State.

He assured the public that his administration would continue to act decisively against any form of misconduct by public officials.
