Disturbed by persistent calls from his home-based supporters and other party chieftains related to a story on the ongoing war of wits between suspended Sen. Abdul Ahmed Ningi and the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio on social media platforms credited to one Garus Gololo, supposedly, a politician in his own class from Gololo of Gamawa local government area of Bauchi State, an All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Muhammed Garba Gololo (MGG), who represented Gamawa federal constituency in the 8th House of Representatives, has warned mischief makers against associating him in whatever way or form with the said story for not originating from him but from the said Garus Gololo who shares the same village name of Gololo with MGG.
Speaking to our correspondent on phone, MGG said: “my attention was drawn to the story that went viral on various social media platforms that got me shocked, to the marrow because, I never at anytime made or issued such a terse statement on an issue I was not directly involved
“Gololo is our town’s name in Gamawa local government area of Bauchi State. Any indigene of the town or an interested person is free to add it to his name for ease of identification as is the case.
“I know the implication and hazards of using same name or acronym with others but there is nothing I can do to checkmate it because it is a right of the individual to affix whatever he deems necessary to his name for whatever reason”
“I have never associated myself with unnecessary political mudslinging or involved in issues that may disrupt the fragile peace at hand. Legislative issues are issues for legislative debates and settlement that has nothing to do with outside influence. I couldn’t have made such comments even if I were a political novice”, he said
The soft spoken former national lawmaker, appealed to his supporters, party chieftains and well-wishers to remain calm as the said news story should not disturb their sleep as did not originate from him and, he did not mandate anyone to talk or act on his behalf related to the said issue of alleged Budget Padding that is creating unnecessary tension where there is none.
