GOC 3 Division Organizes workshop on professionalism in Jos

Major General AE Abubakar, who leads the 3 Division and Operation SAFE HAVEN (OPSH), stressed how important training is for making troops better at their jobs.

He said this on February 29, 2024, during the start of the First Quarter Driver Basic Course 1/2024 at the Headquarters 3 Division Auditorium, Maxwell Khobe Cantonment, Jos.

He talked about how there’s a growing need for skilled drivers because of more tasks across the country.

The Army Headquarters agreed to start driver training at the Division level. This training is meant to make the Division’s drivers better so they can do their jobs well.

Brigadier MK Sanda, representing Major General AE Abubakar, encouraged the participants to use this chance to get better at driving.

Colonel Bello Abbas, the Acting Commander of the 73 Supply and Transport Brigade, talked about how important it is to have trained drivers.

He said there are too many accidents involving military vehicles driven by unskilled people.

The GOC/Commander OPSH and the Chief of Army Staff both think that training is very important. They want the troops to be good at their jobs and stay safe while doing them.

This event was attended by senior officers from Headquarters 3 Division and representatives from the Federal Road Safety Corps and Vehicle Inspection Organization Plateau State.
