Some residents of Kano State have expressed frustration over an alleged N3,000 payment given to participants who attended an All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign event.
In a video circulating on social media obtained by The News Chronicle on Monday, some participants claimed they received N3,000 after attending the campaign. One of the residents alleged that some people had to borrow money for transportation to the venue.
“If you people keep giving us N3,000 for APC campaign, we won’t come out again,” the resident was heard saying, while complaining about the cost of transportation.
The comments have generated reactions on social media, with Nigerians debating the practice of mobilising crowds for political rallies amid the economic difficulties facing many citizens.
However, the claim that attendees were paid N3,000 has not been independently verified, and it remains unclear who allegedly made the payment.
