German Millionaire Missing Since 2009, Reported Dead, Discovered “Living With His Mistress In Russia”

German billionaire Karl-Erivan Haub, who vanished for six years and was declared dead, has been found living in Russia with his mistress.

Karl-Erivan Haub was found in Moscow with his Russian mistress, six years after he disappeared in Switzerland while preparing for a skiing competition.

In April 2018, the then-58-year-old Haub disappeared in Zermatt, Switzerland, where he was getting ready for a skiing event. He didn’t return to his hotel after being seen going up the mountain alone, which was unusual because he was usually very cautious.

Despite a six-day search involving alpine rescuers and aircraft, his body was never found. Three years later, a court in Cologne declared him dead. Haub was a former managing director and part-owner of Tengelmann Group, a German retail giant, and left behind a family and a large company.

In 2021, his brother Christian testified in court that there was no evidence Haub was still alive. However, a recent investigation by the German network RTL claims to have found Haub in Moscow, where he is reportedly living with a much younger mistress named Veronika Ermilova.

Haub, who would now be 64 years old, allegedly made several calls to his mistress’s phone in the days leading up to his disappearance in 2018.

“His disappearance came at a time when Tengelmann was doing pretty badly… and was expanding into Russia with the Obi DIY chain, for example. I am sure it was not a skiing accident, but a staged escape,”

Some speculate that Haub’s disappearance coincided with a difficult time for Tengelmann, as the company was expanding into Russia with the Obi DIY chain. A journalist involved in the investigation suggested that Haub’s disappearance might not have been an accident but a planned escape.
