Gen Jack And The Task Ahead

Too short a time, too long also. It depends on what one wants to do with the time available. Play draft with it, engage in too much loquacious drama, criticise the opposition and focus less on the masses or selling positives, convincing them on the need for a total redemption of Imo State.

Time ticks, the stable door is unlocked and the horse is long gone. Never late , it can be pursued and recovered. The urgency of being deliberately strategic to win the 11th Nov Gubernatorial election is like yesterday.

Today is 10th of October. By tomorrow 11th October, we will have not more than 30days to plan, execute this mandate of redeeming Imo state from the dungeon .

As a Gen. I don’t have any any iota of doubt of your mastery in warfare strategies.

As you know, election in Nigeria is not a tea party. It is much more than that. It is equally not an age grade meeting of eating, drinking and throwing of comic banters. It is much more.

Though I lack words to explain it, but I know it is something close to Gorilla warfare, where what matters is not comfort, sophistication, etc but who wins, who gets the crown and who takes the opponent as war spoil.

It is a race, not a sprint, but a marathon with contestants that are not flatfooted. They have shown capacity either to have engaged in the previous races of this magnitude or were key supporting players in such race. To say that they know the terrain much more than you do, the tricks, the shadiness and the callousness with which the roll wouldn’t be wrong.

Instead of this placing you on a very disadvantaged position, it rather gives you a deep peep into their strength and weakness, to plan a counter strategy against what is seen as their signature tune.

You are new in the game but not bereft of experience and strategies that would pull a lethal surprise that obviously would catch them pants down.

As I speak, Imolites are already disenchanted with the political “Gagwos” who have recycled themselves over and over again with little or nothing to show for their long stay in power. PDP has been around for years from the time of Achike Udenwa. APC of course is currently having a mince meat of the state. Majority are feeling suffocated and would jumb at any gesture of a fresh air. If you can promise this fresh air, show them your oxygen cylinder filled and ready to discharge air, I can bet on my life how uhuru it will be for you.

Imolites are disenchanted, their elastic limit of patientice, forbearance etc already drawn to its limit. Like a gun powder seated on an ember of fire, time ticks, just a matter of time unless hope is restored, trust re-established and a better future promised and plans shown that it is more than mere political rehearsal of rhetorics, Imolites will implode and explode. The ball is right on your court and your destiny of becoming the governor of Imo State in your hands. Think about your politically competitive advantage over them , which your rotten free bag has given you. Does it look like tales by moon light? Nah!

That is how much it looks like, how determined and strategic you are determines its fruition.

Politics of calumny helps nobody, attacking the personalities of your opponents ( Ad hominem ) always have a way to boomerang. To ply that road no matter how they drag you into it.

Face your front, stay on issues , promote your agenda and constructively deconstruct the anti masses policies of your opponents without sounding caustic and “gutterish”. Always remember that great minds discuss ideas not persons.

As a Gen. I have no doubt you have read Art of War by Sun Tzu and other strategic books on wars, as such the following quotes by Sun Tzu wouldn’t be strange to you.

1) Defeated warriors go to war first and then seek to win.

2) Let your plans be dark and impenetrable as night, and when you move, fall like a thunderbolt.”

3) To fight and conquer in all our battles is not supreme excellence; supreme excellence consists in breaking the enemy’s resistance without fighting.

I can go on and on, let me stop here. “Ubochi nta ka anyi chuo na Owerri Nchi”

Look at number 3, apply it and your victory is assured. Imolites seek a new dawn, they seek a renewed hope, they seek to be redeemed from the sheol of bad governance. In all these I see a Damman miracle loading.

Imo is pliable now!. It can go either ways. Imolites are down, they seek change from the old ways. Just give them that glimmer of hope, not one coated with political rhetorics and abracadabra, in their numbers their support will be massive for whoever charms their heart.

11th Nov is not a done deal for anybody! The pendulum is swinging, it can swing either ways. I tell you for free dear Major Gen. Jack, Lincoln Keonyemere Ogunewe your chance is glistening, pursue it and don’t allow political jobbers, playing to the gallery for stomach infrastructure to bungle it. This is politics,it is not uhuru until it is uhuru. 24hours in politics is like eternity. Anything can happen. Eyes always on the ball, hands always on the plough, no looking back.

Goodluck!!
