At least two soldiers and two vigilante members were killed early Tuesday morning when suspected bandits ambushed them in Dogon Ruwa, a community in Bashar District of Wase Local Government Area, Plateau State.
Reports indicate that the security team was ambushed around 1:00 a.m. while pursuing the bandits, who had earlier attempted an attack in the area.
Following the deadly ambush, the attackers reportedly took away rifles and uniforms belonging to the fallen soldiers.

Yakubu explained, “There was information that bandits were planning to attack Dogon Ruwa, so residents alerted security forces, who quickly mobilised to respond. Unfortunately, the bandits had already set an ambush and opened fire on them, killing two soldiers and two vigilantes.”
A resident of Dogon Ruwa, Ibrahim Sale, also spoke about the attack. He said, “After killing the security personnel, the bandits took the soldiers’ rifles and uniforms.”
