Ex Super Eagles player, Tijani Babangida, his wife and son have been reportedly hospitalized after an auto crash that claimed the life of his younger brother, Ibrahim Babangida.
It was learnt that his brother Ibrahim Babangida died on the spot from the accident which happened on Thursday 9th May.
It was gathered that the Atlanta 1996 Olympic Games gold medalist, was the one driving alongside his wife, son and brother when he rammed into a moving trailer along Kaduna-Zaria road.
The Secretary of the Professional Footballers Association of Nigeria (PFAN), Emmanuel Babayaro, who confirmed the accident said that both Babangida and his wife are currently responding to treatment at the Shika Hospital in Zaria.
“Comrades! Let us be in prayers for our president, Tijani Babangida, who just had a ghastly motor accident along the Kaduna-Zaria Road.
“Ibrahim Babangida, his younger brother, died on the spot from the accident while Mr President (Babangida) and his family were taken to the hospital. May the soul of Ibrahim Babangida Rest in Peace with God, amen.”Â
